Years of implementing projects and programmes has given our consultants a wealth of experience in delivering to cost, time and specification, often in resource constrained environments. Irrespective of if your requirements are urgency (with money no object ... yes it does happen! ) or to a micro budget, we will find the right approach to ensure accurate delivery of your project or programme. Whilst most projects and programmes fall somewhere between the two extremes, fundamental to either diverse approach is the requirement to keep the client fully appraised of progress at every step of the way, normally using milestones, way points, coloured progress charts and financial metrics.
Methods and methodologies are a key aspect of delivery. Of course should you have a specific requirement then we can use that methodology to best advantage.
In our view however, some organisations, typically where money is no object, seem to adopt very formalised approach (PRINCE springs to mind) but this realistically only works when the deliverables are so intangible or distant that there is effectively little or no accountability (within the tendering organisation).
Other methodologies adopted will vary depending on circumstances and requirements. Examples include
-
the Strategic Communications Planning Methodology (SCPM)
-
the Structured Systems Analysis and Design Methodology (SSADM)
-
the CCTA Risk Assessment and Management Methodology (CRAMM)
Experience has shown that commercial organisations do not have money to squander. Therefore more realistic methodologies such as Agile Project Management, Extreme Project Management or PMW are often used to deliver the project or programme.
As a result of adopting this more flexible approach to project and programme management, we have delivered :
-
savings of around £50 Million for an expenditure of just over half a million despite a very aggressive timescale and client situation
-
retained revenue of over £500,000 a day as a result of correctly configured systems and networks
-
reduced administrative costs of 30% as a result of using improved methodologies
-
improved business team performance from around £500,000 a year to £3.3 Million.
Listing projects would be a waste of time as we address every assignment as a project, with requirements, resources and constraints, deadlines and deliverables, and above all fundamentally specific business objectives.
